Your progress throughout Render is always saved in the Configure and Observe roles. Any recorded translation drafts, notes, responses from the community, or suggestions from Peer Review or Consultant Check, are saved in Sets. Whenever a user decides to record a note, there will be a copy of that note archived in Sets.

Depending on which step of the project workflow you're on, the note you record will be sent as follows:

A note recorded by the translation team during:

  • Initial Drafting at Translate:

    • Any note recording during the initial translation phase will be attached to the translation for the Peer Review team to listen to.

  • Peer Revise:

    • Once the translator has listened to the suggestion from the Peer Review team, the translator may choose to:

      • Click Re-Record and record a new draft

        • During the re-recording, the translator may record a note on the Record page, which will attach to the new translation submitted for Peer Review (much like the initial drafting).

      • Click Pass and record a note stating why they do not want to revise their recording. This note will be archived in Sets under the Configure and Observe roles.

      • Click the Note button and record a note back to the Peer Team. This note will go back to the peer team to respond. The team can also re-record with this option.

  • Community Revise:

    • While the translator is listening to the feedback from the Community Check, the translator may choose to:

      • Record a Note to remind themselves of the things they want to change when re-recording

        • If they record a note here, the decision to...

          • Submit will archive the note in Sets in the Configure and Observe roles, and progress the translation to the next step (Back Translate).

          • Re-Record will attach the note to the recording page to reference while re-recording the translation. This note will also be archived in Admin: Sets & Processes.

      • Re-Record their translation

        • During the re-recording, the translator may record more notes. This note will be archived in Sets under the Configure and Observe roles. The new recorded translation draft submission will be seen by the next step, Consultant Check (after going through Back Translation and Transcribe).

  • Consultant Revise:

    • Once the translator has listened to the feedback from the consultant, the translator must:

      • Record a Note back to the consultant. They should respond to every note the consultant made on that passage.

    • The translator may choose to:

      • Re-Record their translation.

        • On the Revise screen, the note button will remind the translator of the consultant's suggestion and allow them to add more notes to respond to the consultant.
