In newer versions of Windows 10, a key feature Render uses for LAN syncing is turned off by default. This will need to be turned on so that Render can communicate with your LAN device and perform a successful sync. Here's how you can turn on the SMB1 Server protocol on your device.


Press the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen (or the windows key on your keyboard) and type "turn windows features on and off"


Press Enter if you see this option first on your list. If not, you may need to go to your Control Panel and search for this there. When you open this, you should get a box that looks like this:


Scroll down and find the folder labelled "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support". Open that folder by clicking the plus sign next to it, and make sure that all three boxes are checked underneath that folder. It should look like this:


Click okay. Your computer will display a window telling you that it is finding the necessary files for these features. When it is done, Render will be able to sync over a LAN!
