In this example, to exclude any reference version from cutting, click the title (New Living Translation) (4), and it will display here as locked (5). It will then not be shown as a passage reference version. Play each of the remaining reference versions to see where a good place to cut would be. The vertical lines are breath pauses and show you where you can cut. Click any vertical line where it makes sense to break the passage (3) and click the same spot in the remaining reference versions. A small knife will appear to show where the breaks will be (3). If you want to start over, press the trash can (6) to delete the cuts.  Press the knife (7) to save the cuts.

After saving, more cuts may be added to divide this passage into further sub-passages.

The passage was renumbered, in this example, as 3.1 and 3.2 where you made your first cuts (1). To make additional cuts, repeat by listening to the reference audio and pressing on a vertical bar at the place that makes sense for a break in all versions (2). Press the trash can (6) to delete the cuts. Press the knife (7) to save the cuts. If no more cuts are desired, press the Next button (5) to save and start drafting with your new cut passages.

You are now back at the Draft Record page.
