To start recording, click on the Draft icon from your Home page:


Once you click the yellow Draft icon, you will be taken to the Section Listen page (see below). On this page, the section with the highest priority will be loaded into the player. A section of audio gives you a wider understanding of the context of that portion of text. This section could be made up of one or more passages, which the team will translate one by one. Passages are put together into the same section when they are related by a theme.

On the top bar in Render you will always see a Back button (1) on the upper left hand corner. You can click back at any time to go back one page (if possible) or back to your Home page. You can always see the section number on the top bar (2). If audio titles were loaded into your project, you can also play a short description of the section you are working on by pressing the play button (2). Click the Home button (3) to go back to the Home page with all of your assignments. See the menu (4) for more information on your user and your project. The Reference audio (5) is loaded with up to four Bible versions to be used as references for translation. Optionally, there is supplementary material (6) that can be added to your project, or it may contain notes about this section. The Next button (7) will bring you to the next page.

The current passage number is shown here (8). You can listen to all Reference versions (9) by clicking the play buttons. The Next button (10) will bring you to the next page.

The Passage Reference players (11) will be loaded with the reference language audios that will be your main translation tool. Each player is loaded with one passage—the smallest translatable unit. Your current selected draft number is dark blue (12) and you can click on any of the add a draft buttons (13) to add a new draft. The record box (14) is where you speak your translation by pressing the Record button (15). In Draft Record, you are required to record at least one version of your translation and as many as 6 drafts.


After you record a draft, your page will look similar to this:

After recording a draft (16), press the play button (17) to hear the draft. You can easily move to other parts of the draft by clicking on the scroll bar (18) and moving left or right. The timer (19) will show you the timestamp of both where your scrubber is in the recording (here 00:00) and the total length of your recording (here 00:55). Press the trash can (20) to delete the highlighted draft. If you accidently delete your recording, you can press the undo delete button that will show up right where the delete button was (not pictured here).  Push the Next button (24) to go to the next page.

On this page you will see all of your drafts listed (up to six) and you can listen to them using the play buttons (24). You will need to choose the draft you want to save by clicking the Select button (23) next to that draft. After selecting the draft you want to save, you can click the next button (25) to go to the next page.

The Passage Reference players (26) will be loaded with the reference language audios. Press the Play button (31) to hear the draft (28). You can easily move to other parts of the draft by clicking on the scroll bar (29) and moving left or right. Press the Note button (30) to add a written or spoken note. (See the How to Record a Note article for more information.) To re-record the passage press the Re-record button (32).  The Next button (33) will bring you to the next page. 


If you have more passages to record within the section, you will be taken to the Drafting: Passage Listen page for the next passage. See above for more information on that page.



Draft: Section Review**


When all passages have been recorded, you will review the entire section here:

Once all of the passages have been recorded, the Section Review page will allow you to review all of the passages put together. In this case there are three passages in the section and passage 1 is currently selected (34). Passage 2 and 3 are grayed out as they are not selected. Press the Play button (37) to listen to the section. You can easily move to other parts of the section by clicking on the scroll bar (35) and moving left or right. If you need to re-record a passage, click on that passage and then press the Re-record button (36) and it will bring you back to the Draft Record page for that passage. If you need to record more notes in any of the passages, press the Note button (38).  (See the How to Record a Note article for more information.) The Next button (39) will submit this section for the next step in your workflow and bring you to your Home page.



*This page can be turned off in Project Configuration if desired.

**Passage Review and Section Review can be turned off in Project Configuration, but you will lose the ability to record notes on the passage if both are turned off.
