As a peer checker, you will listen to the translation draft and also compare the draft alongside the references.




To begin reviewing your peer’s work:


1. Launch Render.


2. Click on your user name and input your password if you have one.


3. Click on the yellow Peer Check button on your Home page. (If the button is not yellow, sync your machine.)


You will be brought to the Peer Check: Section Review page (see below).  On this page, the section with the highest priority will be loaded into the player. A section of audio gives you a wider understanding of the context of that portion of text. This section could be made up of one or more passages, which the team will translate one by one. Passages are put together into the same section when they are related by a theme.

On the top bar in Render you will always see a Back button (1) on the upper left hand corner. You can click back at any time to go back one page (if possible) or back to your Home page. You can always see the section number on the top bar (2). If audio titles were loaded into your project, you can also play a short description of the section you are working on by pressing the play button (2). Click the Home button (3) to go back to the Home page with all of your assignments. See the menu (4) for more information on your user and your project. You can press the Play button (8) to listen to the entire section draft recording (5). This will have all of the passages together. If a Note was recorded, you can hear or read it by clicking on the Note icon (6). You can easily move to other parts of the draft by clicking on the scroll bar (8) and moving left or right. Press the Note button (9) to add a written or spoken note. (See the How to Record a Note article for more information.) The Next button (11) will bring you to the next page.

The Reference audio (5) is loaded with up to four Bible versions to be used as references for translation. You can press the Play button (10) to listen to the draft recording (6). You can easily move to other parts of the draft by clicking on the scroll bar (8) and moving left or right. The Timer (7) will show you the timestamp of both where your scrubber is in the recording (here 00:00) and the total length of your recording (here 00:55). Press the Note button (9) to add a written or spoken note. (See the How to Record a Note article for more information.) The Next button (11) will bring you to the next page. 



*One of these pages can be turned off in Project Configuration. If you do not want either piece of Peer Check, you can delete it entirely from your project's workflow on the Workflow Configuration page.
