Downloading and installing Render allows you to begin using a computer in the oral translation process. Please follow the steps below, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

ALERT!: Starting in April 2026 users of Render version 3.10.5 and older will be disabled. This means you will not be able to login to Render. If this happens to you, contact the Render Helpdesk here - Submit a ticket : Render Helpdesk - to get help with upgrading to the latest version of Render and to get your login re-enabled.

1. Get the "Current Version" Render installer file onto the computer that will run the Render software.

    For Current Render Users (UPGRADING):

  1. Log into Render.
  2. Tap "Download new Render" button.
  3. On the "Download Render" website, tap the dark blue "Download" button.
  4. When the download is complete, you might have to tell your browser to "Keep" the file.

For First Time Render 3 Installation:

  1. Go to https://launchpad.obt.fcbh.org/ and click the "Download Render" button in the bottom right corner of the webpage. You do NOT need to login.
  2. Look at the "Current Version" at the top of the list of installer files.
  3. Click the "Download" button.
  4. When the download is complete, you might have to tell your browser to "Keep" the file.

Advice for installing Render on multiple computers:

  1. After downloading the latest installer file onto a computer, copy that file to a USB flash drive (one that is freshly formatted and virus-free). If you also need the Project ID, create a project.txt file on that USB drive to hold that Project ID number
  2. Then, insert this USB flash drive into another project computer.
  3. Follow steps 3 and 4 below. You can run the installer program from the USB drive.

2. Find the installer file in your "Downloads" folder, or in the browser's "Downloads" section.

  1. Look for a file with the name "Render_3.X.X.X_Installer.msix" and with the current time and date

  2. If you have downloaded Render installer files before, check to see if they are still in your Downloads folder and delete them. For example Render_3.11.3.0_x64.msix should be deleted.

3. Run the installer file.

  1. Once you locate the current Render_3.X.X.X_Installer.msix file, double-click on it to run the installer.
  2. In the popup window, click/tap "Install." Render 3 should open automatically.

You might, however, run into some issues:

a. You might receive a Windows message that the program was unable to run. Most likely you have antivirus software preventing Render from opening. In this case, temporarily suspend the antivirus software and run the setup program again. We would recommend running the Windows Defender as the anti-virus protection. We do not recommend any third-party anti-virus program.

     b. Windows might give you a warning from Smart App Control. Please allow Render 3 in there.

4. Once Render 3 is open, it will ask for your Username and Password. You will also have the option to add a project via Project ID. Please see How to Log in on Render 3 to log in to Render 3.
