HOW TO USE THE KNIFE BUTTON

The divide (knife) button will be active on every player on the Record page in Note Translate. The knife button allows you to cut the note into smaller pieces.

1. Click on the knife button. You will be brought to the Divide page:

2. Click on the yellow Play button.

3. Click pause where you would like to make a division. If you paused too early or too late, you can press play and pause again. Alternatively, move the scrubber (the green line) to the spot you would like.

4. Click on the yellow Knife button to put a cut in that spot. Your page will look similar to this:

The dark blue shaded box is the cut portion that will be loaded in the player. To continue:

5. Press Play to listen to your new translation source.

6. If you need to change your cut slightly, hold down the white triangle and move it to include or exclude the portion you would like. If you need to make a significant change to the cut, click the Undo button—the arrow circling left—and repeat steps two through five.

7. Once you are satisfied with the placement of your cut, press Submit Division.

You are now back at the Note Translate Record page.

8. Follow the same steps outlined previously to record your note.

9. Click Submit.

Note: If you decide that you want to put the cut pieces back together, press the Undo button on the player. This will bring you back to a Record page with the original note.

10. After submitting your first translation of the cut, you are automatically given the second portion of the note. Record this note following the same steps you used before. If you want to cut this piece even further, press the knife button and follow the steps outlined previously.
