Each user has a specified role in the project. To assign a user to a role, go to Project Configuration settings, and click on Assign Roles.

Now you will see a page with -

  • All the stages of the workflow in order, starting from left to right. Each stage will contain the roles for appropriate users.
  • All the users available for assignment to the roles on a right-side panel.

All you have to do is click and drag the correct user to their appropriate role in each stage. Now, for the standard workflow, let's start with -

  1. Draft Stage - Team 1 user goes to Team 1 role, Team 2 user goes to Team 2 role. Notice that each team is automatically assigned to the same role in the Community Test Stages. By default (which can be changed), it is assumed the team that translates a section will also test that section with the community.

  2. Peer Check Stage - Team 2 user goes to For Team 1 role, Team 1 user goes to For Team 2 roleNotice that you cannot (by default, which can be changed) assign a translation team to check their own work. The best practice in translation is to have equally-trained peers check your work.

  3. Community Test Stage - Team 1 user goes to For Team 1, Team 2 user goes to For Team 2. As mentioned in the Drafting Stage above, these assignments are made automatically by default (which can be changed) assuming it is best practice for the team that drafted a section to also test it with the community.

  4. Consultant Check Stage - BT 1 user goes to Back Translator, BT 2 user goes to Back Translator 2 (if this has been turned on). If you enabled Note Interpret in this stage settings, then you will have the Note Translator role available for role assignment. Additionally, enabling Transcribe in this stage could also make Transcribe & Transcribe 2 available for role assignment. Make sure you assign the appropriate users to these roles. Assign the consultant user to the Consultant role. If there is a Consultant-In-Training user, they can be assigned to the Consultant role and the Certified Consultant can be assigned to the Approval role.

  5. Consultant Approval Stage - Assign the Consultant user to the Approve role.
