Community Test is used by a translation team to ask for feedback from people that are not actively engaged in the translation project. The stage offers two steps, Passage Retell and Response Record, which are both turned on by default.

You can choose to include both steps or to only use one in your Workflow Configuration settings. If you prefer not to use either, do not include a Community Test stage in your workflow.

Select the Community Test icon from the Project Home page:

Community Test: Passage Retell*

Translation teams can play their recorded draft of the Section (1) and the current Passage (2) before recording the community’s retelling of the current Passage (7).

  1. Draft Section audio: plays the recorded draft of the Section
  2. Draft Passage audio: plays the recorded draft of the Passage
  3. Section & Passage Numbering: indicates the Section you are working on and lists the Passage number below it.
  4. Home: tapping this brings you to the Project Home page
  5. Menu: Home page, Section Status, Export Audio, Project List, Sync, and Log Out
  6. Trash can: select to delete the recorded passage retell audio. Can also be tapped to recover audio that was recently deleted using the Trash Can.
  7. Record/Stop button: tap this to record the audio of the Passage Retelling. Tap a second time to stop the recording.
  8. Append button: select this button to reactivate the Record button. This allows you to continue recording audio for the Passage Retelling without losing the audio that has already been recorded.
  9. Next button: proceeds to the next screen.

Community Test: Response Record*

Translation teams can play their draft of the Section (1) and the current Passage (2) if needed., a shorter audio clip (3), and a previously recorded question (4) before recording (6) the community’s response to the question.

  1. Draft Section audio: plays the recorded draft of the Section
  2. Draft Passage audio: plays the recorded draft of the Passage
  3. Audio clip: plays a small portion of the passage audio. It will either play the audio from the beginning of the passage to the first question marker (see article on Community Setup to understand question placement and markers), or from the previous question marker to the current question marker.
  4. Question audio: plays the recorded question. In this example, “Question 1 of 2” indicates the passage has two recorded questions. Each question has its own page.
  5. Trash can: select to delete the recorded response to the question. Tap a second time to recover a deleted response.
  6. Record/Stop: record the response of the community to the question. Tap a second time to stop the recording.
  7. Append button: select this button to reactivate the Record button. This allows you to continue recording a response to the question without losing the audio that has already been recorded.
  8. Next/Finish: selecting this will bring you to the next question. If there are no remaining questions, then the step is finished, and Render will return you to the Project Home page.
