Overview
Render 3.12 brings performance improvements, more stable project handling, and better synchronization for both web and USB syncing. It also fixes many small issues from previous versions, especially those that caused data loss or crashes.
Users should upgrade all devices in a project team to 3.12 to avoid sync and workflow problems.
Main Improvements
1. Installation and Login
Render 3.12 automatically handles Windows firewall permissions (no pop-up needed).
Logging in is faster and more reliable.
Common login errors are fixed.

2. Screen Display and Performance
The waveform display shows 60 seconds (instead of 120) for easier navigation.
The app now scales better on high-resolution screens (like 150% zoom).

3. Synchronization (Web and USB)
Syncing is now more reliable and less likely to lose audio or data.
Projects downloaded or shared using IDs update correctly.

Adding new teams during ongoing projects works smoothly.
Localized language settings now stay in sync.

When re-recording, Render keeps drafts in the correct order.
Fixed crashes that sometimes occurred when taking notes or revising.

6. Audio Supplemental Material (e.g. FIA and others)
Render now supports audio Supplemental Material, such as FIA (Familiarize, Internalize, Articulate) audio files.
Supplemental Materials can be added to scopes which have already been deployed. They are added by an OBT Project Coordinator at FCBH.
Render does not pre-load supplemental content. A file will be loaded when it is first accessed by the user.

7. Consultant Stages
Consultant Check: Faster performance and better compatibility when checking translations from older Render versions.
Consultant Approval: Prevents duplicated sections after approval.
Fixed revision-related crashes.
Who benefits: Consultants, back-translators, note interpreters
8. Conflict Resolution
Problems where sections duplicated or conflicted after sync have been resolved.
Render can now properly recover lost drafts when conflicts occur.

9. Community Testing and General Speed
Community Test questions load faster.
All bar-players and interface screens work more smoothly.
Fewer random freezes or missing elements.

10. Data Protection and Stability
Extra safeguards were added to prevent data loss or accidental overwriting.
Render now warns users if they try to use an outdated version.
Backup is automatic before upgrades.

⚠️ Important Notes and Cautions
Do not downgrade to older versions (like 3.11).
→ It can cause infinite loading screens, missing sections, or data loss.All users in a team should use the same version (3.12).
→ Mixing versions can lead to duplicated revisions, missing audio, or unsynced data.If sync fails, restart Render and re-click “Sync” on the device.
Supplemental Material:
→ Only available and stable in 3.12.
→ Supplemental materials can only be downloaded by using “Add a Project ID, not by “Sync.”
